BrassWerks, formed in 1975 as the Flathead Valley Brass Sextet, was founded by our own musical treasure, Don Lawrence. Don continues as the ensemble’s leader and arranger as it performs an extensive repertoire of light classics, show tunes, big band, ragtime, marches, spiritual – and more.
The group’s dedicated musicians are very serious about producing fine music, and desire to preserve and promote the wonderful sound of a small brass ensemble. The musicians are Marty Weimer and B.J. Lupton, trumpets; Dana Scranton, flugelhorn; Jim Lehner, trombone; Allen Slater, euphonium; Steve Youmans, tuba; Jack Waller, percussion; and Dianne Guenther, vocals.
